Using a hand-cranked etching press, this monotype's image was created on a blank plate made of copper, zinc, glass, or stone, brushes, rollers, rags, fingers are used to apply and remove ink from the plate.
My etching press is the same as one from the 1600's.
Nothing is physically fixed on the plate thus creating a freedom and spontanity unavailable in brother printmaking processes.
There is only one print
created mono (one) type. |
